I have been kickboxing with Kathy at her studio Dance Co., for several years now.
Her class is high energy and fast paced. She changes the routine regular so there is never a dull moment and she expertly focuses on every muscle group.
Along with the cardio exercises, she incorporates bags, jump ropes, medicine balls and mat work.
This class will whip you into shape just as fast as Insanity or P90X but is much more fun!
There is never a dull moment with her magnetic and electric personality. Before you know it you have worked yourself into a frenzy sweat burning 600 calories in a fantastic 50 minutes~!
I would recommend this class for anyone who wants to get in shape and have fun doing it!
I started taking Kathy's Kickboxing Classes talk about a workout! I really enjoy her class. She does a variety of workouts and the time flies. I used to attend 24 hour fitness classes and it was always a chore, but Kathy's class is nothing like that. It's actually fun and I am not one to ever say exercising is fun. If you're thinking about signing up I highly suggest you do. Kathy is super nice and if you need any accomodations she is always more than willing to show you alternative ways to do the exercises to fit your needs.
I have tried Kickboxing Classes at different locaitons in the past and di not get that "feeling" Maybe it was not being comfortable. I signed up for Tuesday kickboxing class and I was surprised. The class just FLEW by. You aren't expected to lknow everything and do everything. There was every kickboxing level in attendance. I didn't feel like the odd ball out. So far I have completed my first wee (I went 3 times) and my body is sore from a major cardio workout, but in all the right places. I feel like I have more energy! Kathy is very welcoming kand she addresses you after class to see how you liked it and welcomes you when you return for another day of torture.
I have been taking Kathy's Cardio Kickboxing at Dance Co. for almost a year and have found it to be one of a kind. In college, I was a personal trainer with 24hour fitness as well as a high school and junior college athlete, so I can tell you that I was not expecting much when my girlfriend suggested I accompany her to Kathy's class. I had been wanting to get back into my college form me now being closer to 40 than college aged and having put on some weight. I had put on about 40 lbs since college.
The first workout destroyed me, I was holding on for dear life, almost passed out and fainted several times...but Kathy stuck with me. She encouraged me all the while continuing to kick my tail every week as I kept returning. Every time getting a little better, stronger, lasting a bit longer. It was never easy but Kathy was always there when I was ready to quit, to pick me up and let me know how far I had come since the first time.
So, with Kathy's help along with a revised diet plan and other activities to supplement I have lost the 40 lbs and now am back to my college weight amazingly enough.
Her class not only helped me lose the weight, it helped my balance, core strenth, agility, not to mention the sense of accomplishment I feel every time I complete one of her classes. She makes it fun every week.
I would recommend her class to anyone serious about getting in shape, although I must warn you it is NOT easy, its high intensity, and non-stop just like Kathy.
